Itamar Danziger grew up in Toronto, in a musical family. He was inspired to compose at a young age, by a family friend, the Canadian composer Srul Irving Glick. Itamar later went on to study composition with Michael Leibson, Michael Damian, and Amanda Lowry.
Itamar joined the Kitchener Musical Society Band’s Clarinet section, in 2015. With Dave Davidson’s support, he increasingly focused his compositions towards concert bands. Itamar is particularly interested in meshing ethnic elements, such as Klezmer and Ladino music, into mainstream musical styles. KMSB has workshopped and performed some of Itamar’s pieces such as Kitchener Bulgar, Latkes Suite, and Winter Waltz.
Itamar’s compositions were performed in Canada, USA, Hong Kong, Israel, and Italy.
